Probably not what my watchers were expecting, hehe.

SAINT SEIYA! Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken!

Ahh man brings back memories. I grew up on this stuff cuz I was in Asia at this show's peak. And I needs ta represent on dA. The show never really took off in America though, tis a shame. Instead it's white hot in Latin America, which is why 90% of the Saint Seiya stuff on the web is in Spanish, lol. I even watched the Hades chapters on youtube with Spanish subtitles.

This is a RARE pic that actually looks decent with me spending only 2 hours on it.

Check out my Cygnus [link] and Virgo [link] too!

I was waiting for you to do a Saint Seiya pic! Although the style is different, it reminds me of the comicbook for some reason. Maybe the face and the hair... Your painting style is very effective at creating a dark mood. I bet if you did a Hokuto no Shinken pic in this style it would match perfectly, too. Love the torn bit of clothing on the right arm the most... How did you reference? I think your books and toys are still here, right?

Thanks for commenting!

I love the cartoon's face drawing style. I used to be better at mimicking it, but I sorta revert to some else when I draw without reference. The comic's face drawing style was very unique, with really thick eyelashes when the eyes are closed (which is often) and no bottom lip line when the mouth is open (which is often). lol

I referenced with one crap pic from a spanish site. Yep, my books and toys are there!

Hokutonoken? Hm...

yes, you just reminded me of something... my first fan-art was done pausing a vcr and drawing Brawn and Cliffjumper when I was sick from elementary school in NJ... the first "anime" lines are from copy-drawing from your Saint Seiya books in Taiwan! To this day, when I draw a girl's face, the first lines I lay down are the head-shape, and nose shape & position of the Saint Seiya style! When I draw a guy's face, it's just a squared-off, rougher-edged form of a Saint Seiya head... wow... the depth of influentiality... there's probably some other influence hidden in there that I didn't dig up, but Saint Seiya is the first! interesting...

Woah I didn't know that, hehe. Yeah those Saint Seiya cartoon version faces were great looking though. They have the boyish face (Saint Seiya) then the more mature guy-faces (Phoenix). Then the girls are HOT like Eagle, Snake and Athena.

The comic art I don't like as much.

Thanks for the fav and comment!

I knew we had more in common, lol. Yeah I LOVE Saint Seiya.

I apologize for saying "Mexico", I should have said Latin America in the description. I'll change that...

When you say "all the chapters", which ones do you mean? Do you mean pre-Gold Saint, Gold Saint, God armor, Sea scale? And now more recently Hades?

You're welcome! Well, the chapters that I watched in Cartoon Network LA were: Santuario (Pre-Gold and Gold saint), Asgard, Poseidon(Sea scale I pressume) and Hades.
